Re: //e Enhancement kits?
I am not an Apple II reseller, but I am a former Apple II technician. I
post items and parts for sale from time to time in
comp.sys.apple2.marketplace. I used to work with an Apple II user group
called ATOM (Apple Two of Minnesota) which folded around 1993. I have
sold most of the assets of this group, but still have parts for the Apple
IIe's. I also have a lot of the chips for the motherboard and for many of
the cards. I used to desolder and replace failed chips rather than
replace the motherboard and cards. At one time, I maintained over 400
Apple IIe's for a public school district. I also ran 2 Apple II BBS's on
Apple IIe's. I shut one down in 1999 and the second one in 2001. The
number of callers fell off a cliff in the late 1990's. I have pretty much
switched all of my computing over to the IBM compatibles, but I have kept
one Apple IIe and one Apple IIgs in service. There is one text based dial
up connection in Minneapolis, Minnesota left that will allow you Internet
access limited to email and newsgroups with an Apple IIe. Even though
I've switched to IBM compatibles, I just can't seem to give up my last 2
Apple II's. The IIe was my first computer and I just have to turn it on
once in a while. As a matter of fact, I'm using it now. I'm glad to see
that this newsgroup is still active.
