I've seen 2 "multifinder-like" programs that run under GS/OS. One was
a commercial product, "The Manager" by Seven Hills Software and
required GS/OS 6.0. I've had little success with that, as it always
seemed to crash for me.

A $20 (I paid in '94) Shareware program I did have much more success
with is an application called MultiGS which was written by David
Swanson. It was quite compact at 57k. As I recall, I had ShrinkItGS
and 2 other programs running at the same time. David stated that up
to 7 programs can be run at the same time, but the real limitation
seemed to be that some programs were real zero-page memory hogs, and
when you ran out of zero-page memory, you couldn't add programs under
MultiGS. The program was very flexible, and the docs discussed
compatibilities and some workarounds. You could even have a number of
"Start Files", which by launching one of these "Start Files" would
then automatically launch all the programs you had listed in this
"Start File".

Maybe someone more knowledgeable has used this program and can comment
on it.
