Well, there are several ways to proceed.  The easiest way is to just load 
everything on an existing HFS partition. That is, in addition to your System 
Folder for Mac use, you would also end up with a GS System folder,  and 
Basic.System and ProDOS in the root level allowing you to signin directly.  

For your //e on a 475; (I have a 575 with a //e card),  you could re-partition 
the main drive into a HFS and a small ProDOS drive allowing the //e to play 
with its native enviornment.  Not a action I suggest to the novice; potential 
for loosing all.  Or..... and this is far more cool:  1 do the above; load all 
your stuff to the HFS drive.  2 plug in a external small drive formated to 
ProDOS.  3 on a seperate SCSI ID also plug in a Asante EN/SC and hook the LC475 
via this box to ethernet with Ethertalk or ethernet (external device) selected.

  Now with this setup, and with Appleshare 3.0.3 loaded on the 475, you can 
connect Appleshare to your ethernet as a server(the 475) then login to it as a 
client (the //e card, which loads all its stuff from the ProDOS drive). and 
also use the 475 as a server for an attached IIGS.
The //e card here needs to be set in the //e control panel to boot from 
Localtalk and you need that "Card" installed on 7, and you need the Appletalk 
boot software properly loaded.  Its all in the manuals, read me files, and 
posts here over the years.  
And when you get it up it is way way cool!  ;)

Oh, the other thing you need to do  is to run LOCALTALK BRIDGE on the 475 and 
plug the GS in to it on the printer port via either a serial cable or PhoneNET 
wire.  Thus you can connect the GS to a "server" that also acts as a client 
(//e card), and a bridge to your ethernet leg.  POINT: this arrangement links 
APPLETALK ONLY. It does not allow a TCP/IP bridge, ie you cannot "surf the 
Internet" with this setup.
Humm.  would SLIrP...IPNETROUTER and Marinetti work with this physical setup 
though?   I haven't tried that yet....
