Re: Keyboard for //e?

What is wrong with the existing one ?

I had one or two bad switches in mine that were a real pain. Open-Apple was
one, making a cold-RESET a nuicance. ie Ctrl+Open-Apple+RESET became
Ctrl+Closed-Apple+RESET then Ctrl+RESET.

desoldering the switch from the keyboard, followed by a large dose of
CO-Contact Cleaner (into the internals of the switch) followed by some rapid
pressing of the switch until it came good. using a multimeter to verify that
the switch works, then just blow out the excess solution with an air hose.
resolder in the key and it's back to fully working.

conceivably this could be done without desoldering the switch, although a
little more awkward to flip the Apple //e case around.

hope that helps if your switches aren't working. If you are missing
keys/keycaps, that's another story.
