One other remote possibilty is that if you tried to re-ink the ribbon
using either the WD-40 trick or actual ink, you might not have let enough
of the excess ink run off before using it. Been there, done that.
Now if only I knew how to re-ink a color ribbon. I'm considering buying a
new printer since I can't find color ribbons anymore. I've got two new
ones left an one that's still ok, but when they're gone I won't be able to
use The Print Shop to make color stuff anymore.
Trouble is nobody sells serial printers anymore, only USB. Not even Apple
stores.
