I think that's due to a leaky filter cap in the flyback transformer. It
leaks as it warms up. The best thing is to get another monitor. If you read
Rich's post, he's offering them for the cost of shipping. You can also
replace the flyback transformer, which is the large black gizmo at left rear
of the PC board, with a fat wire coming out the top and going to the CRT.
But that's usually to complicated and expensive.
You may also be able to adjust it so that it looks OK when warmed up. There
are two adjusting screws on the flyback, one adjusts brightness and the
other adjusts focus. Take the back off, let it warm up, then adjust one
screw while looking at the screen. Go back and forth between the screws
until you get it looking as good as possible. It will probably continue to
degrade with time, but if you only use it occasionally that will buy you
time until you can pick up another monitor.
Of course, be careful, etc etc.
