Ok. Progress
The drive makes a noise when the computer power is turned on, there is
a game disk that supposedly has the DOS on it in the drive and when
fiddling with the brightness and contrast I get "Apple II" at the top
middle of the screen.... but nothing else seems to happen

The drive cable ( strap ) was twisted but seems OK. Should I see if I
can find another disk with the DOS on it?
