After pulling out cards, putting in cards, disconecting cables, pulling
out and swapping Powersupplies and such..I was just ready to give up. So
what do I do? I go to pull something off the table and knock my Apple
IIGS users guide off the table... it flopped open to a page in the trouble
shooting section... it said something about resetting the system's
settings... it said to press [control]+[option]+[reset]..so I
did...::blank screen::..then it said to press [2]..so I did...*Beep!* the
screen turned a medium blue with white text..the IIGS ROM 1 boot
screen..then another beep and "Plese check startup device!" with a sliding
apple animation. so I went into the controll panel and set everything up
as I had had it and everything was working fine again..
Then I noticed a disk sticking out of my floppy drive...I rememberd
wanting to see what was on the disk..it was some demo or something....so I
pushed it in and made the IIGS boot up to it again... *beep!*..::Blank
Screen::..It was the demo disk that put my IIGS out of comision the first
time. So I just did what the users guide said again and then I pulled the
floppy out and snapped it in half. (sure, I suppose I could have formated
it and used it for something else, but the disk was rather old anyway and
I wouldn't trust it to keep anything I saved on it for very long).
