Time to get a hard drive. :-)
I've tried transfering files to the GS, but in order to read my Mac formatted 800K disk, I need the HFS file system installed on my boot disk. I try to update it, but I'm short 4K! Arg

I would try to format a ProDOS disk with my LC III, but it has System 7.1 on it and will only format Mac 800K and PC 720K disks. Is there a way of formatting/using ProDOS disks with System 7.1?

Is there a reason you can't install 7.5.3? It's a free download, and it
will read/write/format ProDOS floppies. Last night, my netatalk server was
acting up, so I ended up FTPing an archive to my Quadra 610, taking the 3.5"
disk to my IIGS, and unpacking the archive there to a 5.25" disk for my IIe.

(I've since gotten netatalk working again...for some reason, the AppleTalk
kernel module refused to load. Upgrading to Linux 2.4.18 (I was using
2.4.14) fixed that.)

Macs are useful Apple II peripherals, aren't they? :-)

I've done just that. I downloaded the 7.5.3 images on my PC, transfered the disk images to my 6100/60, moved the disk images onto Mac formatted floppies where I'm now installing it to my LC III. I traditionally liked 7.1 over 7.5.3 because of it's speed. Perhaps I'm too much of a purist..I just like 7.1. Oh well.

Yes, I could've saved a lot of time by just downloading the 7.5.3 disk images directly to the 6100, but I needed my internet connection on the PC for another "project". :-)
