Beverly, The mere fact that you are considering putting various works back online as the result of Tom leaving is a shining tribute to the overbearing, arrogant and out-of-touch-with-reality behaviour of folks just like you. Nathan Mates, Joe Kohn, Quantum Cat, etc etc have done more to HARM the apple II community over the last 5 years that any one of us "pirates" and "thieves".
That's ridiculous.Nathan Mates developed software! Joe Kohn sells the stuff! How is that tearing down the community? How in the world has Quantum Cat (as a mere poster to a single newsgroup) torn down the community?
Instead of "doing us a favor", why don't you just continue sulking and pouting in the corner, whining about how unappreciative the rest of us are, while the Apple II community continues to dwindle and wither, just as it would have regardless of your actions.
Your attitude shines through here, revealing: 1) You think the A2 is dead regardless of what anyone does (fatalism) 2) You seem to think developers aren't due appreciationWhen you've sunk a few months into a program, then you can go on about how you don't need praise or even feedback. (I'd love to see that, actually...a developer who doesn't want or need feedback.) But those who sit on the sideline always cheer the loudest while never stepping onto the field.
Since you think the A2 community will die regardless, what are you doing here? Oh yeah...scavenging corpses and shouting that the empire will never return, so leave you to loot in peace. How noble.
