Have you checked your floppy drive speed? Many copy protection schemes go
haywire if the disk speed isn't dead on. I've also seen copy protected disks
fail to read when a drive was going bad, which was easily detected by
erratic disk speed when I checked it with a utility.

Having said that, odds are the disks are dead. Magnetic media is not
permanent.
