I can read 800K floppies on my PM 7500 running Mac OS 9.1 (the highest 
it will run).  Only caveats...file sharing has to be off for the disk to 
mount (dates back to 8.1 I do believe) and I think Disk Copy will make 
an image of the file even with file sharing on...it just might complain 
about it a bit.  I think that might also have been through an 
Applescript.  I don't have my 7500 on at the moment and I'm not going to 
fire it up just to do a quick test.

Can't tell you about 9.2...the only Mac I have that runs it doesn't have 
a floppy.  Not that I've really ever needed a floppy with my laptop 
though...
