I don't know whether a powerbook floppy drive will work or not but if it
does, it'd certainly need the daisy-chain board out of an external 3.5" drive.
Instead of modifying the power supply, why not replace it with an
external PC
power supply and then you have lots of room for maybe 2 floppy drives
and a
hard drive. Your IIgs will also run a lot cooler.
IWM - Integrated Woz Machine
Woz designed the disk II controller but the drive he designed it for was
a
Shugart drive
The FAQ has a pinout for the regular slots but I don't believe the
memory
expansion slot.
