Folks, The real problem is lack of local access ISP's that support
this old machine. As much as I hate to admit it, it may be time to
sell this beloved antique and just migrate to the main stream. It is
annoying to have some outsider, spam cop, interefere with legitimate
comerce and force people off the net due to lack of connectivity.
Spam is a real problem, yet forcing free e-mail users off the web to
control this seems to be a ploy to end free e-mail. The reason I use
this system is that I like the old machine, and locally no ISP that I
knew of offered shell accounts with dial up access less than 56.6KB,
none of the postings reflect this either. Please keep in mind that I
am really on a IIe and I have a 14.4BK Modem. From the referrals I
see here I still cannot connect to any of them due to modem/hardware
or locality. (my current situation was a way around this and has
worked just fine). If anyone else has knowledge of other isp's that
offer low speed modem connectivity and shell accounts
Please let me know. Thanks. Tom
