Newbie IIgs User Needs Help

Hi Folks,
I just purchsed a used IIgs system recently and a new Focus HardCard with
170mb 2.5" drive. The drive was preinstalled with system 6.01 and the seller
tested it as working. When I boot the system with card installed it begins
the system 6.01 boot process and about 2/3's through the booy process, after
it installs what appears to be the sound icon (after the boot icon) it goes
to the blue error screen with the following message: GS/OS System Error,
Address = $00DB19, Error Code = $0043, LC Bank = $0.
The IIgs is Rom 01, & it has a 2mb ram card installed.
The cards sellor advised me to reload system 6.01 as he installed and tested
it on a 3.0 Rom system with 4mb Ram. Well, I downloaded the system disk
images from apple on my Mac (OS 9.01) and formated 7 low density disks as
ProDos. But whenever I try to copy the disk image to the newly formated 800k
prodos disk my whole system freezes up. So, OK I formated 7 more disks as
mac 800k format, and the disk images copied fine, but when I tried to run
them from my IIgs 3.5 drive, the disks were not recognized. URGGGGG.
Sorry for this long discription, and what probably appears as a novice
issue, but as he subject says I'm a newbie.
How do I transfer the downloaded disk images to prodos formated disks on my
Mac so that I can use them on my IIgs? and,
Why won't the Focus hardcard system 6.01 load all the way?
