Help Identify Possible ROM 0 Apple IIgs

Hello all,

In helping a local school sell off some old computers (see
comp.sys.apple2.marketplace), I found three Apple IIgs CPUs that are a
bit odd to me. Here are the oddities:

- Upon powerup, only a simple "Apple IIgs" appears at the top of the
screen. No copyright notice at the bottom, and no ROM version number
at the bottom.

- The sticker on the bottom only says "Copyright Apple Computer,
Inc."... blah blah blah... Every ROM 01 that I've seen has "Copyright
1987 Apple Computer, Inc.", and every ROM 3 that I've seen has
"Copyright 1989 Apple Computer, Inc."

- The ROM chip (only one) next to the CPU says "342-0077-A", and
"Copyright Apple 78,81,83,86" The ROM 01 machine I've seen say
"342-0077-B", and "Copyright Apple 78,81,83,86,87".

- The CPU is the same part number as some ROM 01s, but has a "-3" at
the end, not a "-4" as in other ROM 01 machines

Is this a ROM 0 Apple IIgs?

Any ideas on how many were made?

Any offers? :-)

Thanks for any information you can provide....
