You could check to make sure that the clicking is coming from the
speaker. If it is coming from the power supply, that would indicate
that the power supply is overloaded and/or defective.
A pretty good fix procedure is to pull the power supply and give
the board a good dusting. Then scootch up and resocket each socketed IC
on the board. (You can use a large needle to scootch up the square IC's
at the corners.) This should reestablish good contacts and may eliminate
problems.
