A laserwriter can be connected to a GS via a serial connection or
Appletalk.
In general the print quality will be 300 dpi because in general the fonts
are built into the printer itself.
To use Appleworks it will end up printing through the Imiagewriter
emulation, or using the Courier font.
Print Shop is more complicated because even thru the emulator, PS was
designed for normal dot matrix printers so the output will still look like
Imagewriter output.
How much a laserwriter is worth depends on the printer and where you're
buying it. Also note, some of the "Personal Laserwriter" printers will
only work well with Macs because they don't support postscript.
