I recall reading RECOMMENDATIONS from Apple and commercial software
companies STRONGLY RECOMMENDING that you make backups of EVERYTHING. :)

Sheez... now I can't even play simple games without having the CD in the
drive at all times... and if I don't use your modem to register commercial
software upon installation, some companies make you feel like a criminal.
Too much protection, IMO... it infringes on my ease-of-use as a legal user.

   I vaguely remember some sort of "copy card" that was available for
   Apple IIs.  Does anyone know what it was, what it did, or how it
   worked?
