What am I doing wrong??? I've copied a ton of Windows TTF files to my

with FontPimp to Mac-style fonts. No matter which one I pick (from a
sampling of "core" Windows 98 fonts), *NONE* of them will convert...I

select

the font I want from the list, create a directory to put the converted

in, click "Save", and *poof*...nothing happens. Repeat ad infinitum.

Use

ResEdit on the Mac to try to hack other filetypes to make it work. Make

Help! =)

You may not have noticed. This is a Mac problem, but this is not a Mac
newsgroup. You would be better off talking with Macintosh people not
Apple// people. In order to help you resolve your problem here is a
little advice...

Generally Mac people can be found in newsgroups containing "mac" in the
title. For example comp.sys.mac.*, comp.mac.*, or comp.os.mac.*. While
people here in the Apple// groups are helpful and may be able to give
reasonable answers to general questions, your best bet would be with the
Mac folks. Although the machines have a certain degree of similarity,
they are still different product lines.

I know you meant well, but next time, make sure you've verified that the
application in question (FontPimp, in this case) is indeed a Mac app and not
a IIgs app (as it is in this case), lest you make a complete ass of
yourself.

P.S.: You may not have noticed that I'm somewhat of a regular around here,
but I won't hold that against you - I've never seen you here, either. =)
Regardless, it is indeed nice to meet you, even if I felt the burning desire
to respond with a bit of good-natured acidity in my reply. ;)

My apologies. I usually take a look at a message and see if anything suggests a non-Apple question. In spite of what a number of people say it is becoming difficult to keep up with Apple programs. I seem to be off in never-never land these days. At the moment I am working on getting articles for a magazine. It looks like I'll have to come up with one for the Apple again this month. Anyhow, thanks for pointing out FontPimp is a GS program. I was unaware of it but now I know. It's amazing what can still be done with it.

Well, off to take a look at Marionetti for next month...
