Yes. The IIgs can only act as a client, but is able to connect to the
Mac's built-in File Sharing, or an AppleShare server.
At a minimum, you require a IIgs with 1 MB of RAM and a 3.5" drive. You
need to set up a special system disk with the appropriate software on
it, and this is rather difficult to achieve on an 800K 3.5" disk (you
have to remove the Finder, which makes the system rather tricky to use).
It is a lot easier if you have a hard drive on the IIgs.
(If you have a Mac running AppleShare Server 2.0.x or 3.0.x, you can
even set things up so the IIgs will boot over the network. This
capability was removed in AppleShare 4.0.)
