Re: OMG!
Hiya, Dorktor!
Have you got any more software placed into the public domain by lying again? ;)
*> On this OMG! thread the following replies were presented and I'd love to
*> reply with an expression of my thoughts on it all.
Oh. It should be a short post then. As long as you can keep redundancy out of
it. ;)
*> As a democrat who believes in the power, morality and justness of a true
*> democracy
Hmm... True democracies are rare. Everyone would have to vote on every single
item of government. We'd be voting on so many items that we wouldn't get any
work done. Not that you'd know about work. ;)
*> (i.e. -> the will of the majority of the people)
Uh... The democratic method is a good way of finding the will of the majority of
the people, sure. But it doesn't have to be a "true democracy".
*> It's very clear to me that here in the USA on the federal level - we no
*> longer live in a democracy.
No. You live in a republic.
*> We have a president who was appointed to office by an elite power base of
*> political controllers.
Oh? I gather that you haven't read those reports by the media who did their own
recount and found that he won fair and square. Cry a river, Charles. ;)
*> In most cases, the will of the majority of the people no longer applies
*> to the desires of the this political power base collective in our federal
*> government.
Frankly, the "desires" of "the majority of the people" can be scary. For
example, I'm betting that the majority of the people object to obese druggie
welfare leeches and would like to see the end of them. ;)
*> What we have now in the USA is more of a federal republic - than any thing
*> else.
Ah... Perhaps you remembered your High School Civics class after all. ;)
*> The state of a true democracy for the USA seems to have slowly and
*> progressively vanished on a federal level from around 1950 until now.
Well... It's vanished. Because it never existed in the first place. ;)
*> I know a lot of people who simply do not like any of it, in the way it's
*> all going.
All those people are entitled to whine and moan about it if they wish. They
could even try voting. ;)
*> So, get ready for it folks.
It? Why would I want to get ready for "it"? ;)
*> I expect we are going to see a long and red hot summer, in more ways than
*> I'd care to offer in this reply!
Well, sure. You bozo's are going to have to deal with a summer without power
because you thought you could outvote the market. ;)
And you didn't want to build more powerplants. ;)
And conserving energy is the answer. ;)
Go hug a tree, Tom. ;)
*> It's all rather pitiful too when you consider that if you are in the
*> majority with your desires and it is the will of the majority of the people
*> that make up the place where you live the government of the country you
*> live in will not grant you your desires.
Thank goodness laws protect the minorities then. With assholes like YOU in
charge, Tom, we'd have killing fields here that would make Cambodia look like a
summer camp. ;P
*> I'm rather glad that I live in a very special county here in the state of
*> California where true democracy
Nonsense. ;) The People's Soviet Republic of Kalifornia? ;)

Baloney. You have a representative democracy, Dorktor. ;)
*> << Legality does not define morality. >>
*> Yes, that is a true fact or sure!
Uh huh... Morality defines Legality. Why don't you crack open a dictionary and
check for yourself. ;)

Duh. Why do you think Clinton lined his pockets with proceeds from operating the
White House like a hotel? And getting comfy with the Chinese? ;)

Looks like you have a bad case of sour grapes, Charles. ;)

Think about this statement, Tom. You've certainly never demonstrated this. ;)

Heh. You've never been close to justice. ;)
*> I've never cared for virtue either.
No Shit. ;)

Does this extremism entail depriving others of their rights? Bet it does.
