I think the main problem was that he was 1) trying to say it was ok to use
cracked versions of copyrighted software, and that included lots of stuff still
being sold and supported and 2) he was uploading this same software to ftp
sites.
 
Plus he seems to enjoy emmensely the attention a good flame war gets him.  He
revels in it.
