FWIW, there is a page out there on the web that tells how to fix your zip
drive if it suffers the "click of death" syndrome. I found it by doing a
search for "click of death."
According to this page, it is often caused by the head going beyond a limit
point for unknown reasons. The fix is to gently move it back past that
limit. Unfortunately, there is not a way to revive disks damaged by the
"click of death".
