Replacing the Slots with better quality connectors that also hold the
card higher would be a good idea except that removing the old Slot connectors
is a very messy business. I replace one a few years ago and felt really good
about only needing to repair four or five motherboard traces.
You can probably get your Slots to hold cards more firmly by
re-spronging the sprongers. This involves using a small jeweler's screwdriver
to get behind each spronger and bend it out toward the center. (It's best to
do this with the power Off.)
When all 50 sprongers are done, you can end up with a very narrow
separation between the lines of pins on each side and a notably tighter grip.
