Apple, I think as usual shortchanged older siblings as they went along... as
in their newer software was more capable than the software they released for
the //e and IIgs (even if they released the Ii software later) In my case...
My IIgs (right now) can only log onto my Linux box as a guest... the registed
user login is disabled.
For testing I tried the ProDOS 8 applications and they too, as with the //e
software don't even let me try to log onto Linux. Of course my Mac can log in
as registered or guest. Grumble.
Offhand, what version of Netatalk are you running?
I don't know if it is a contributing factor but some later versions have a
patch to make serving Apple IIs work better.
