Re: New Apple II SuperSite Online

I remember when Dr. Tom was grafting his name on software that he hadn't
written. At the time I was a sysop, and I well remember the outrage in the
software community over this. Being a (very) minor software author myself, I
can well understand how authors would be more offended over the loss of
credit than over the loss of revenue.

To sum up the reaction, "This time, it's personal!" Really, I can conceive
of no greater crime in a creative community than credit theft. It's far more
important than mundane money.

Having said that, I have myself run across examples of my Eamon work that
has had my name replaced with others'. I find myself more bemused by some
poor soul's desire to take unearned credit than outraged by the loss of
recognition.
