Re: Building An Apple ][ Software Archive
I guess I should have mentioned, I live in the boonies and back then it
was very hard to get Apple II info. The local library had a few Dos 3.3
books. The closest dealer was over 40 miles away. So I was glad to get
anything I could use to learn more about my computer. The few disks I had
gotten were mainly geared to programming and utilities but I remember
many which would still be useful. One which comes to mind was a disk
devoted to character sets for the Dos hires character generator and also
worked with the ProDos version. With a little tinkering they could be used
in Zbasic also.
With much more information available on the internet, many people might
not want to search through these old disks but I would. You never know
when you might find a useful routine or interesting method or just some
neat info about the 8 bit II systems. For the most part, I still think
they are the real Apple II. Yes, I use the GS and GSOS but IMHO, it's
different type of computer which can run 8 bit Apple II programs. In GS
mode, it vaguely resembles the earlier model II.

Thank you for your time and interest. I hope it was helpful
or at least interesting.
