I'd think if this was possible, it would have been done 15 years ago. It
would have been a very handy thing back when Apple II users were buying
Macs, or in schools where mixed environments of Apple II's and Macs were
common.  They did make a solution for this, the IIe card. It doesn't use the
external floppy port to connect a 5.25" drive, it has it's own port on the
card.

But you're right, it's an interesting thing to think about, and it would be
great if someone could do it through software.  Or maybe a hardware/software
solution, software and a box that connects between the Mac and  the A2
floppy.
