I don't think the letters so far have shown all the various ways that a
business comes by a copyright.  As a chemist I worked for both a private
business, a University and the federal government.  Working for a private
major corporation I had to sign a contract that gave all rights to any
inventions I made whether on the job or at home after working hours.  For
the government, I sold my rights for a dollar.  At the university I was
working for someone else who took credit for my work as if it was his own.
In all cases I had origionated ideas and did work that led to something
being copyrighted.  Other than $1 I never had my name on any copyright.
