Emulators are an interesting thing.  A very small percent of emulator
users want a faster IIe/C/IIgs, so they upgrade to an emulator.  They
go through the hassle of transferring the disk images to the PC or MAC,
and use their fake Apple II's happily.  How small of a percentage is
this?  How many people keep their space-wasting Apple II's, monitors,
and boxes of software so they can legally use the emulator and
software?  They've got it on the emulator, why keep all the crap?

A majority (I'd guess greater than %99) of emulator users sold or threw
their apple II's away long ago, and now want to run an apple II for
nostalgia's sake.  They remember all of those games and other programs
they had long ago and want to try them out again.

Where do they get all of their software, Hmmm?  Don't even try to claim
they go to the used market.

There's another lead for the piracy pigs (police)....  The majority of
emulator users are PIRATING Apple II software!  An emulator requires
the Apple II ROM image to operate.  The ROM contains copyrighted
material from Apple Inc. and Microsoft.  There's two companies being
ripped off in one.  That stuffs definitely copyrighted.


An emulator programmer may be breaking patent laws too.  They are
COPYING the Apple II  (video modes, i/o addressing, RAM structure, etc)
in software.  THEY ARE COPYING APPLE INC.'s DESIGN.  Over 20 years ago
a guy named Steve Wozniak put his time, effort, money, and hard work
into the design of the Apple II.  These ideas came from his mind.  His
intellectual property.  Some emulator programmers even require a
shareware fee!

Did they ask apple Inc. if they could share their wares?  I think not.

Why not go after them?

I've got a pretty good guess.  You guys use emulators.

How 'bout a new slogan for the users of Bernie 2 the Rescue?

Instead of "woofing along at X Mhz":

"arrrgggghhhhh'ing along at X Mhz"


Comments are very welcome!  Shall you tell the readers that it's okay
to copy ROM images and the entire hardware design of the Apple II (in
software)?

Using the real hardware at 12.5Mhz with well over 400 dollars spent in
the last 4 years on software.  Not using Spectrum because there's no
shell accounts here.
