Me too.  This makes a hardware fault on the motherboard less likely,
unless it is something specific about the SCSI card (which uses more
features of the slot interface than the Disk ][ controller).

What other cards or add-ons do you have in the system?  In particular,
do you have an accelerator?  If so, you will have to disable DMA on an
Apple High-Speed SCSI card for it to work.
