Yes, I'd pretty much have to agree. But the disadvantages of doing
stuff with a GUI don't really seem to hit me.

I've used Applescript. Easy to do and was able to record some
actions to make things even quicker. But then this is something
I need to do very rarely.

I'd believe it, but it's not something I've really ever had to
do. I know you can do something like this with some of the
programming stuff on the Mac...I've seen a friend do it with a
program he was working on and wanted to get it fully running
before he started implementing a GUI.
