Rubywand:   Thanks for the links and data!   I tried it on a //e with a 
Mockingboard disk I have (I had found a mockingboard box + manuals + disks at 
Goodwill, no card alas!)  AND IT WORKS!   looks like this pot was broken off 
around the middle position and that it is basically a volume control on one 
channel.  Rather then mess with It, since it is functional I will opt for 
leaving it as is and merely adjusting volume on my speakers.  The //e I have 
this in is now the ultimate sound beast!  it has a Phasor..Echo II, and a 
Mountain Computer Supertalker with a output mod done by Stingray  THANKS 
STING!!    A //e with 5 speakers comming out of it? hummm.   and they talk 
about suround sound in today's PCs..... Hurumph!
