Wow, do I agree with that.
Yes! If you put an illegal piece of software on an FTP site, just
clearly mark it as such and let the users decide if they want to go
along with the piracy or if they want to stay honest.
That way, everybody will be happy: the users who don't want to be
pirates (because they can choose the stuff that's OK), the users who
don't care (because they don't care) and the copyright holders
(because they can clearly see which stuff is illegal, and can take
actions against it more easily).
