I see nothing wrong with a personal computer being capable handling all
electronic communication. This is the strength of a general-purpose
personal computer- One moment it can be a word processor, another a
video-phone and another a game machine.
Or would you rather have separate devices for everything? A separate
videophone, a separate Web Browser machine, a separate game machine, ect...?

I also like the idea. But be forewarned, (I believe) it would have to
be a modern, net-savvy computer and, of course, not run into any legal
problems with Apple.

But before you state:

But it would be nowhere near the iMac if it were not a threat to the PC.

I don't believe this. Yes, Apple obviously can't just decide to
completely ditch the Mac for another platform (unlike it did with the
Apple II...), but have you been following all the hardware changes in
recent Macs (G4, Airport, Firewire/USB, ect...)? And what about Mac OS
X?- This is the biggest change in Mac OS history.
