It could be that DOS version is a problem. I do not know what the DOS
requirements are for the PC ADT program (adt.exe); but, really, MS-DOS 3.x is
kind of old.

Yes. The header connects to a cable with the DB-25 connector.

     Welcome.

Something else about the SSC: evidently, (this is a bit of a guess) the
"jumper" for selecting "communications" (modem) or "terminal" (printer)
relates to the configuration of the output. DIP Switches SW1-5 and SW1-6
appear to determine which mode you are in as far as the other DIP switch
settings are concerned.

For example, suppose you want to do NULL modem transfers. To use the SSC
with a standard modem cable, the jumper would be set for "terminal" (printer)
in order to swap around the lines. Meanwhile, SW1-5 and SW1-6 would be set for
"communications" (modem) operation-- both ON-- in order for the SSC to behave
like its talking to a modem.

Again, since I do not have the SSC docs or own an SSC, the above is a
guess. Of course, if you attach a NULL modem cable or the cable described in
the ADT v1.22 directions, both the jumper and the switches would be set for
"communications" (modem) operation.

Good luck with getting ADT working!
