Newbie needs help on IIGS !!!

I was given a complete IIgs which obviously runs something called Finder 0.8
on ROM 1... and there's a memory expansion card in it.
Still, a few dumb questions come to my mind:

1) How do I make the difference between 1, 2, 4 and 8 Mb expansion cards ?
(I know I can buy them at Alltech's but I still don't know what they look
like...)

2) How do I change the ROM version ? Is it hardware of software ?

3) Where can I get GS/OS 6.0.1 original disks ?

4) If I can't get the original disks... then how can I transfer the
downloaded files to the GS using the existing hardware and OS ? (Knowing
that I have a B&W G3 with serial adapter) How do you setup an Appletalk
connection between the G3 and the GS ?
