If you're trying to ID the card that you have, a physical description would
help. Someone may have a list with descriptions of all of the various boards,
but I don't, sorry.

Hardware. AFAIK changing from a Rom 1 to Rom 3 requires a motherboard swap.
Probably easier to just buy a Rom 3. You may be able to find someone willing to
trade.

Download 6.0.1 disk images:
ftp://ftp.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_American/Apple_II/Apple_IIGS_System_6.0.1/
Transfering them to floppy could be a trick since you have a Mac with no floppy
drive. If you have a friend with an older Mac, you could always do the download
at his/her house, and transfer them to floppy there. Someone here surely will
be willing to make you a copy of the disks quite reasonably. Also, AFAIK you
cannot set up Appletalk until after you get GS/OS installed... chicken/egg
problem here.
