Ok, and I'm not really suggesting that he try this. It was just a
mention. I too recommended following the standards, but sometimes the
standards may not be the best way to deal with any given problem.

That would be interesting indeed. Yet IMHO, it falls into the same
category as the emulators. To use the automobile scenario presented
by others, this machine would be similar to the replica kits which
are available. While they are great vehicles, they still are not the
same as the real thing.

I think there may be too many limiting factors for such a machine.
Any hardware developed for it may not be backward compatible. Software
which would take advantage of this new system would also have this
problem. Future developments would, in many ways make the machine more
like the Mac and less like the Apple2, which is where the GS was
headed anyway.

What exactly would you like to see advanced in the GS arena?

Because I have not been able to buy it yet, and don't know if I will.
It is not always easy for some of us to justify the money we put into
our hobbies.

Thanks Jeff, I always enjoy your views on the Apple2. You often offer
some interesting ideas and opinions.
