Unfortunately, Prodos only stores the last 2 digits. Under Prodos,
the only approved method of retrieving said date was with a MLI
call. If this program was written before Apple supplied it's
standard it can't tell the files are newer.
I suggest trying to change the dates on the last backup and see
if that helps.

What type of GS, or rather ROM version. If you can even get started and
it hangs, try going to the control panel and turn off the mouse. You
might
also try booting a P8 disk. It may also be the keyboard.
