Just the GS it came with, but after cleaning and reseating the chips that
one seems to be OK. I put the Vulcan back into it after loading ProDos on
it, and it boots and functions normally.
I realized after looking at that garbled screen as it flashed by that it is
displaying every other letter. Apple IIgs comes out as ApeIg, for example.
Isn't that related to memory banking or something? It seems to be a
non-problem, I'm sure one of the experts here will instantly recognize that
as what happens when the display mode switches or something.
The startup screen comes up for a second or two, then the garbled screen,
which I think is the same as the startup screen but maybe a different mode,
also for a second or two. Then the OS loading screen comes on, and
everything is normal.
I had another disk from a PC of the same type, so I tried swapping it in,
and the same thing happened, so it is not the hard disk itself.

It's a 40 meg, but seems to have three 10 meg partitions. Wayne Stewart was
kind enough to send me the Vulcan utils, so I'll play with it some more
later today.
