Just for fun I checked out my 1990 issues of Nibble magazine and
discovered that the ZipGSX accelerator most of us use didn't come out
until late in that year. I went through the ads in the December issue
and found the following prices for the TranswarpGS and ZipGSX:
TranswarpGS
Issue Price Company
-------- ----- ---------------------------------------------------
Dec 1990 $289 Programs Plus
$248 LRO Computer Sales
ZipGSX 8 MHz
Issue Price Company
-------- ----- ---------------------------------------------------
Dec 1990 $279 Zip Technology [listed as ZipGSX Model 1600]
$267 LRO Computer Sales
$249 Programs Plus [listed as Zip Chip Model 1600 (GS)]
So this says to me that you are selling a 9 year, used old electronic
device for more than it was selling for brand new (unless you bought
it directly from Zip Technology when it was first released for $350)
but without the warranty and with no way of knowing how much longer
the components on that board will last.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the price as I'd love to
see that be the going rate for ZipGSX's as I have two working and one
not working here. :-)
