Well, I can read copyright law, so yet, I'm reasonably certain about
it.  Software has the same copyright protection that a book or movie
has.

IMO, it's not that there are site like Asimov up and running, it's
Rubywand saying that they're legal because nothing is done about
them.

By that reasoning, speeding is legal.  Yesterday I passed Highway
Patrol cars twice while exceeding the speed limit.  Nothing was
done so it must be legal.  And I wasn't even the fastest moving
vehicle on that section of the road at the time.
