One very important feature: DII worked with the native file system.  You
could work on the same text file with AW and, say, WordPerfect, and not have
to bother with moving it to and from a special emulator disk file.  (Can
Bernie do that?  Anyone?)

It also had a much improved memory manager.  When I had it running on a
borrowed Mac I had it set for 14 megs of desktop.  Whoa!
