There's also software drivers available to drive this printer, and a
lot of others. I have one called Harmony which is made by Vitesse. I
don't know if this product is still being sold. It works with GS/OS
only. Supposedly, the HP DeskJet 500 can handle a subset of the PCL
(printer control language), which is the same language as what the HP
LaserJet printers use.
