Does running 8-bit software work? If not ProDOS, what
about some old DOS 3.3 stuff?

Since different OS stuff tends to require different resources
from the system and CPU, this might isolate the problem.
For example, if 8-bit stuff works but 16-bit stuff does not, it
would indicate a CPU problem as a likely culprit. If DOS 3.3
stuff works but not ProDOS, maybe some problem with
RAM on the motherboard and so forth.
