Apparently not. I have a parallel port Zip on my PC and an SCSI
Zip on my IIGS. My PC disks read fine on my IIGS.

Nope. MUG! is PC Exchange for the IIGS. I don't know how
you would read email with it! It is only intended to transfer
files!
(Don't know about MUGS...is that a different program?)

How hard is it? I set WS_FTP to download stuff from FTP
sites many megabytes at a time directly onto my PC Zip
disk. I take the disk over to the IIGS. I copy stuff off the
disk. As long as MUG! is installed, it is as easy as copying
between disks on a IIGS.

Of course, but MUG! was not intended for those people,
right?
If you do have the drives, null modem is a waste of time.

Transfer an entire 32MB ProDOS partition with Zip drives
and MUG!: a couple of minutes
Transfer an entire 32MB ProDOS partition with 56k null
modem: 3 hours
I'd take the Zip drives and MUG!, thank you.
(Other uses that are nightmarish with null modem but a
pleasure with MUG!: transfer CD-ROM collections of
Windows TT fonts to Zip disk, take Zip disk to IIGS, use
MUG! to copy TT fonts to IIGS hard drive, use IIGS
utility to translate Windows TT fonts to Mac/IIGS TT
fonts; transfer large numbers of graphics files and sound
files; transfers entire software collections; moving IIGS
volumes back and forth to synchronize emulator with real
IIGS hard drive volumes.)
