When applying for a job involving radiation protection once, I
answered a question about what thickness of concrete you would
need around a neutron source with something like "that depends on
how much barite you mix in it, and I don't remember the exact
figures but that's what books are for".

I didn't get the job (even though I thought I had answered
correctly).
