I've never had the 'no card detected' message with the BITSTREAMS SD but 
I've had it act flakey (JAT reset error or no error but not show anything on 
the card). Taking it out and re-inserting it a couple times fixed the 
problem.
No other card ever had this problem.

I don't think there is anything special about the BITSTREAMS SD (other than 
mine has the 'write protect' tab removed).  I've put bitstreams directly on 
other SD cards on the root directory and had no problem Flashing the onboard 
memory.

The only other thing I can think of off hand is that the bitstream that you 
are transferring by way of your new USB cable is in some way not right.  Did 
you modify the bitstream?  If so try transferring the original bitstream 
before flashing the memory.
